The experimental measurements visualize the ultrasound induced displacements. In addition quantitative values are to be provided for the clinical diagnostics.


A model is being desinged to reproduce the measurements in order to relate the measurable differences in the magnitude of the displacement to the changed mechanical properties of the material. Such a model could help to investigate the influence of various parameters and to draw conclusions about the absolute values of the mechanical properties. As a technique the finite element method is used, which presents an established technique for solving differential equations numerically and is used for versitile applications in the engineering sciences and in recent also in medical engineering.
